Internet access
To use information technologies of Charles University, a login and password are needed, which you receive together with your CU Student Card/ISIC Student Card during the Orientation Days after the official registration at the faculty in any of Charles University Card Service Centres – the nearest one is at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (Ke Karlovu 3). Students arriving outside the dates of the Orientation Days can arrange them after official registration in the faculty Erasmus office (Na Slupi 16).
The initial password is valid for 5 days, after you reset it, the validity of 365 days. To change the temporary password, reset a forgotten password, renew a recently expired password go to:

Note, that after 10 unsuccessful login attempts, your account will be locked for 30 min.
Registered login and password enable you to:
- Student Information System (SIS) – courses, schedule, results, etc.
- Moodle – to access study materials of your courses, etc.
- set a faculty email in the form login@natur.cuni.cz (you can log in on www.gmail.com or at posta.natur.cuni.cz)
- access to many scientific publications, journals (institutional login)
- computers in faculty computer classrooms/study rooms including storage space
- faculty cloud systems such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for free
- software licences
- Internet access – Eduroam wireless network available in most of Charles University buildings as well as dormitories and several other institutions in Prague. The guide on how to connect your device (mobile phone, notebook, tablet, etc.) is available here.

Computer rooms
Computer classrooms – usually only for courses with a teacher
- classroom B5 – Viničná 7, 1st floor (Nr. 110) – 19 terminals
- classroom K2 – Albertov 6, 3rd floor – 19 computers
- classroom Z2 – Albertov 6, 4th floor – 22 computers
- classroom Z3 – Albertov 6, 4th floor – 29 computers
- classroom PUA – Albertov 6, basement – 25 terminals
Computer study rooms
– individual study during opening hours, mostly a part of faculty libraries
- Library of Biological Sciences, Viničná 7, 1st floor – 15 terminals
- Library of the Chemical Sciences, Hlavova 8, basement – 9 terminals
- Library of Geological Sciences, Albertov 6, ground floor – 9 terminals
- Library of the Geographical Sciences, Albertov 6, 2nd floor – 2 terminals
- Library of the Institute for Environmental Studies, Benátská 2, ground floor – 4 terminals
- Library of the Department of Botany, Benátská 2, ground floor – 4 terminals

To save your data, you can use following discs (discs are accessible from all computers at the faculty except terminals):
- local disc J: accessible only for your account
– up to 200 MB (400 MB for geographers) - disc T: freely accessible to everyone at the Faculty of Science, regularly deleted
- discs S and V: data necessary for teaching
Do not forget to log out after finishing your work! Press "Start" button (Windows logo in the left bottom corner) → menu "Vypnout" (turn off) → "Odhlásit se" (log out) or you can directly turn off the computer.
