The WiFi network at the Faculty of Science, Charles University was created as part of the FRVŠ 2006 project. Further expansion was funded from faculty sources and through the CESNET Development Fund project no. 275/2008.

The Faculty of Science, Charles University is now part of the eduroam project, and users of the Faculty of Science can log in at all organizations that are connected to this project.

The pilot project focused on providing basic coverage for the faculty buildings. Due to financial and technical reasons, it is not possible to cover all buildings at once. The priority was to cover libraries, selected lecture halls, and hallways. WiFi coverage is still being expanded based on identified needs.

The name and logo eduroam are a registered trademark of the company TERENA.
