The Faculty of Science of Charles University now has its own Faculty Code of Ethics. It builds upon the Code of Ethics of Charles University and supplements it, among other areas, with a focus on social safety. The Code rests on two interconnected pillars - social safety and the ethics of scientific and educational activities. Their shared foundations are trust, responsibility, respect, and mutual consideration.

The Faculty of Science, Charles University (CU Faculty of Science) and IOCB Prague have formalized their strategic partnership. Dean of the Faculty Vladimír Krylov and IOCB Director Jan Konvalinka signed a memorandum outlining extensive scientific and educational cooperation, as well as a joint approach to knowledge and technology transfer.

After four years of international cooperation, COST Action CA21150 Parental Leave Policies and Social Sustainability (Sustainability@Leave) concluded in September 2026. The Action brought together researchers, policymakers and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to examine parental leave not only as an employment or gender-equality measure, but as a policy with wider implications for inequalities, children’s well-being, family life and the social sustainability of societies.

On Thursday, 22 October 2026, at 2 p.m., the foyer of the Map Collection will come alive with a special event commemorating the inscription of P. J. Šafařík’s maps in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. The programme will include the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, the launch of a new book, and the exhibition Hic sunt Slavi. The event is held under the auspices of Dean of the Faculty of Science, doc. RNDr. Ing. Vladimír Krylov, Ph.D. Everyone is warmly invited!
