The teams in the Biology Section cover a wide range of scientific issues, which usually correspond to the focus of individual departments; service/core facilities (service laboratories) staff can also participate in the research. All workplaces of the Biology Section are involved in large institutional projects of the UK (Cooperation Biology); individual workplaces and teams also deal with projects of EU operational programs/structural funds and other foreign/domestic projects; the projects of the European Research Council (ERC) need to be highlighted in particular. This extensive research activity and collaboration with other faculties of Charles University, other universities, and other institutions, primarily with the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences, should reassure you about the depth and breadth of our work.

The specific focus and main research results are presented on the departments' websites and in other sectional workplaces. Some results of our departments in recent years demonstrate the growing international reputation and ground-breaking achievements in biology research; such success stories are undoubtedly the result of the work of not only renowned, experienced, and prospective academic and scientific workers but also involved doctoral and master's students, which should make us all proud and inspired.

The Biology Section also includes its service/core facilities in four buildings - Viničná 7, Viničná 7a, Benátská 2, and BIOCEV (Vestec). The presentation of these services/laboratories (namely the offer of instruments, "know-how", services, etc.) and other service facilities is given under the following links:
