First, each of the trainee has to find a supervisor by himself/herself. Check the websites of the departments/institutes corresponding to your research topic and the specialization of their staff. The departmental/institutional coordinators can help you to find a right supervisor.

After the detailed programme and the exact period of the traineeship is agreed by the supervisor (the supervisor delivers his/her confirmation to our faculty Erasmus Office), you need to be nominated by your home university Erasmus coordinator according to the information in the CU Info Sheet. The Erasmus coordinators, who do not have the CU Info Sheet, please contact us at erasmus@natur.cuni.cz.

Note, accurate and correct data are necessary for a correct nomination – the correct faculty, department/institute and preferably also the supervisor's name must be mentioned.

After a successful nomination, the European office sends instructions on how to submit the application including a registration link to fill out the Learning Agreement sample here, which must be printed out, signed by your home institution and sent to the Erasmus Office of the Faculty of Science: erasmus@natur.cuni.cz

Note, incoming trainees are not provided with any insurance by the Faculty of Science. In addition to health insurance, which is mandatory in the Czech Republic, liability and accident insurance is required for traneeships!

Application Deadlines

Non-EU/EFTA citizens: 3 months before the planned period of stay (Please, contact our European University Office: erasmus.incoming@ruk.cuni.cz)

EU/EFTA citizens: 1 month before the planned period of stay.

Upon successful completion of the traineeship, Final Certificate is confirmed by the supervisor, and Confirmation of the Erasmus traineeship period is issued by the faculty Erasmus Office.

The above-stated rules are aplicable to Erasmus long-term as well as short-term traineeships.
