Methodology and Technical Support
- Common cell and molecular biology techniques, such as gene engineering, site-directed mutagenesis, single-cell-derived knockout clone generation, reverse-transcription PCR, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, affinity chromatography, luminescence assays, fluorescence in situ hybridization and density gradient ultracentrifugation
- Confocal and super-resolution microscopy, live imaging, electron microscopy, flow cytometry and mass spectrometry (using BIOCEV core facilities)
- Tissue and cell culture manipulations, virus propagation and isolation of mouse polyomavirus and BK virus, baculoviral expression systems, VLPs, and pseudovirion technology
Areas of Scientific Expertise
- Small tumorigenic DNA viruses (polyomaviruses, papillomaviruses), circoviruses, baculoviruses
- Cell endocytosis and transport
- Virus–cell and protein–protein interactions
- Mechanisms of cellular innate immunity (e.g. immune DNA-sensing pathways)
