We are one of the largest departments of the Biology Section of the Faculty of Science. Our teaching and research activities encompass various areas of genetics, molecular and cell biology, microbiology and virology, which is reflected in the wide variety of lectures, courses and research topics, as well as in the plentitude of model organisms and experimental methods. It also frequently results in various practical applications, particularly in medicine and biotechnologies.
