Login to the system, logout

  • The username (Username) is the faculty login (e.g., novak3) and is not case-sensitive. You cannot log in with your person number or alias.

  • The password is the same as your CAS password, and case sensitivity applies. If you have trouble logging in, check your keyboard settings – the "Num Lock" and "Caps Lock" indicators, the language setting of your keyboard, and special characters in the password. When logging in to terminals, the Czech keyboard layout is set by default, and after logging in, the keyboard layout (CZ-ENG) can be switched in the usual way.

  • The password is valid for 365 days. If you attempt to log in with an expired password, the system will alert you and prompt you to change the password. However, the password change attempt will always fail. To change the password, it must be done in the CAS system. The change will be propagated to the Windows domain PRFUK within 20 minutes. If you forget or your CAS password expires, you can request a new initial CAS password.

  • After ten failed login attempts, the account will be locked for thirty minutes.

  • Always log out after finishing work (Start > Shutdown > Log off). If no one will be working on the computer afterwards, shut it down.

Saving data

  • Each user has their own network drive (J:), which is accessible only to its owner from any computer or terminal in the classrooms and study rooms. This regularly backed-up drive is intended for saving the results of your work. In justified cases, its disk quota size can be temporarily increased.

  • On the network drive (T:), all users can save data. This data is publicly accessible to anyone in the Faculty of Science network. This non-backed-up drive is regularly cleaned and is not intended for long-term storage, but only for immediate sharing between users.

  • On other network drives (S:, V:), you will find data necessary for teaching, according to the instructor's instructions.

  • Also pay attention to the section Network Drives.

  • You can also save temporary working data on local (non-backed-up) drives of the computer (D: in classrooms with PCs or C:\Temp in classrooms/study rooms with terminals), or use your own storage media or cloud storage services.
