Doctoral study programme Geoinformatics, Cartography and Remote Sensing
Admission is subject to a Master's degree, especially in geoinformatics, cartography, remote sensing, geodesy, photogrammetry and other related fields. Admission to doctoral studies is preceded by an oral interview with the admissions committee. The committee shall consist of at least three members. At the interview, the applicant must demonstrate professional and linguistic ability to study the relevant field and the aptitude for independent scientific work.
The admission procedure also includes a determination of the applicant's interest in working on a specific dissertation project topic with a specific supervisor. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and a broader overview of the field of geoinformatics, with an emphasis on his/her expected area of expertise (geoinformatics, cartography, remote sensing).
An overview of related scientific fields for possible interdisciplinary collaboration is also required. A good knowledge of at least one foreign world language is also important.
