The use of CESNET Data Services is governed by operational rules, the full text of which can be found at: https://du.cesnet.cz/en/provozni_pravidla/start

Excerpt from the rules:

  1. The user may only use the DÚ for the transmission and storage of data related to activities in science, research, development, the dissemination of education, culture, and prosperity, as detailed in the "Acceptable Use Policy of the CESNET Large Infrastructure (AUP)"
  2. The user must not use the DÚ in a manner that violates applicable laws (particularly copyright law and data protection law), bypass administrative and security measures for accessing the DÚ, or attempt to do so.

The operator provides no guarantees for the persistence of stored data and disclaims legal responsibility for its retention, especially due to force majeure. However, the operator declares care for the data and operation of the service on a “best effort” basis. Given the architecture and geographical separation of the storage locations, the data is well protected against destruction.
