To study at the Plant Ecology unit, you need two things: a supervisor and a topic (and to enjoy it). The two things are quite intertwined, so you can go either way: either find a supervisor, possibly at a course given by the geobotany staff. You discuss with the supervisor the topics he offers (or is willing to offer for you) and that's it. A topic here means something around which your bachelor's and eventually master's thesis can be built. Alternatively, if you like a topic on this site, you can find a supervisor for it. If you know neither or are unsure, visit any of us and discuss the matter with them. As a study advisor at Plant Ecology, Mgr. Tomáš Koubek, Ph.D., tomas.koubek@natur.cuni.cz will help you, feel free to contact him with any query.
If you want to study at the unit, it is certainly practical if you become a member of our geobotany conference. A lot of other information is discussed at our post-seminars.
Excursions
Excursions are an integral part of the study at the Plant Ecology, the main aim of which is to introduce students to phenomena related to plant ecology in addition to the plant species themselves. The following is a list of excursions recommended for geobotany students.
Field course in botany (SIS)
A basic course on higher plants, fungi, algae and chromists designed primarily for beginners
