The limnological laboratory serves primarily to process "wet" biological material. These are live or fixed samples, when their processing requires thorough washing and rinsing.  The laboratory is equipped with Olympus SZ51 and Arsenal STC 902 stereomicroscopes for the sorting and determination of aquatic invertebrates, including determination literature.  The laboratory also prepares samples for the analysis of subfossil organisms.

The microscope room is intended exclusively for working with clean and dry material. It is equipped with an Arsenal SZP 1102 ZOOM stereomicroscope (45x) with the possibility of installing a camera and a Zeiss Jena Jenaval microscope (with 100x immersion objective) with a built-in camera providing a live image and control from a PC.
