On Wednesday, 2 July 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic held a ceremonial presentation of the UNESCO certificate, confirming the successful registration of the Collection of Cartographic Documents by Pavel Josef Šafařík on the prestigious international Memory of the World Register.
The ceremony was performed by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mgr. Milan Němeček, Ph.D. The certificate was received from him by the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Charles University, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ing. Vladimír Krylov, Ph.D., the Vice-Dean for the Geography Section, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Luděk Šídlo, Ph.D., and Mgr. Mirka Tröglová Sejtková, who represented the Map Collection.

The Collection of cartographic documents by Pavel Josef Šafařík, deposited in the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, represents a unique set of 88 of Šafařík's manuscript maps and texts or printed maps with manuscript notes and coloring.
This is the second successful nomination for the Map Collection. In 2017, it succeeded in registering Camocio's maps of the Siege of Malta in collaboration with the Maltese National Museum of Fine Arts.
