The Erasmus+ programme enables the sending and receiving of graduates for practical internships. The organisation of this type of practical internships is realised in cooperation with the Rectorate and the faculties by the EDUCA consortium (https://educaops.eu/).

The qualification criteria for this type of mobility correspond to those binding for traineeships of students (the full text of the qualification conditions is available here).

  • The minimum length of a traineeship is 60 days – however, be aware that this is counted together with the length of Erasmus stays that the student has already completed at a given level of study. The maximum length at the level of each degree of study is 12 months.
  • If insufficient funds are available, the duration of an internship may be limited. The maximum duration of an internship is currently only 6 months and 0 days.
  • All participants in mobility must take out ERAPO insurance. Further information is available at: https://educaops.eu/cs/erapo-insurance/
  • Internships are conditional on them corresponding to the student's field of study.
  • Number of working hours per week: 40 hours.

When at a foreign workplace, it is necessary to obtain a member of staff (teacher / researcher) to perform the role of mentor. The preliminary content of the practical internship is prepared in coordination with both the sending and receiving workplace. This may include laboratory work, field research, cooperation within the project, etc. Self-study is not a permitted activity during a traineeship.

The receiving institution may be any public or private organisation from a programme or partner country that is active in the labour market or in education, training, youth, research and innovation (companies, enterprises, non-profit organisations, public and research institutions, and now also embassies or consular offices of the country of the sending programme).

Administrative preparation:

  • Selection procedure at the departments/institutes of the Faculty of Science – same as for the traineeships during study
  • Learning Agreement for Traineeships (available for download here) – drawn up by the student on the basis of discussions with the mentor abroad, supervisor from the home institution and the guarantor of the study programme, who confirms the content of the traineeship with the signature ("Responsible person at the Sending Organisation"). In case of doubt, the student can consult the faculty Erasmus Office.
  • Application form  (available for download here) – the student submits it to the faculty Erasmus Office, where it is confirmed on behalf of the Faculty of Science on the basis of a fully signed Learning Agreement.

  • The student sends these documents, including the CV  and the Motivation Letter, to the European Office of the Rectorate, where the Application is confirmed on behalf of CU.
      •   Contact person for graduate internships:

           e-mail: petra.smidova@ruk.cuni.cz

  • Subsequently, the student sends all documents to the EDUCA consortium, as indicated on the application.
