The employee is a citizen of the Czech Republic

  • the department informs the HR Division in time about the planned start (usually one month in advance)
  • the employee fills in onboarding documents at the workplace or by agreement with the Personnel department
  • prior to joining, the employee undergoes an initial occupational medical examination - the department pre-fills the application form
  • the workplace completes a suggestion sheet
  • the head of department creates a job description
  • the onboarding documents and proposal sheet are sent by the workplace to the HR Division one month before the planned start date
  • the job description is sent by the site to the staff department after the employee has signed it, usually together with the signed employment contract

Employee is not a citizen of the Czech Republic

  1. EU Citizen
    does not have any other job than for the faculty:

    • the department informs the HR Division in good time about the planned start (usually one month in advance)
    • the employee completes the onboarding documents at the workplace or by agreement with the Personnel department (if the employee is not in the Czech Republic, the onboarding documents can be sent by e-mail)
    • the employee undergoes an initial occupational health examination before starting work - the workplace pre-fills the  application form
    • the head of department fills in a proposal sheet
    • the head of department creates  a job description for the employee
    • the onboarding documents and the proposal sheet will be sent by the department to the HR Division one month before the planned start date
    • the job description will be sent by the department to the HR Division after the employee has signed it, usually together with the signed employment contract
  2. EU Citizen
    has another job in the EU:
    • the department informs the HR Division in good time of the planned start (usually 2 months in advance)
    • the employee must decide in which country he/she will pay social security and health insurance and apply for an A1 form in that country 
      • the employee's employment cannot start before the A1 form is issued
      • if the A1 form will be issued by a state other than the Czech Republic, the employee shall sign a Mutual Agreement on the performance of obligations on behalf of the employer concerning the payment of social security and health insurance contributions before signing the employment contract
    • the employee completes the onboarding documents at the workplace or by agreement with the Personnel Department (if the employee is not in the Czech Republic, the documents can be sent by e-mail)
    • the employee undergoes an initial occupational medical examination - the workplace pre-fills the application form
    • the head of department fills in a proposal sheet
    • the head of unit creates a job description for the employee
    • the onboarding documents and proposal sheet are sent by the site to the HR Division one month before the planned start date
    • the job description is sent by the unit to the HR Division after the employee has signed it, usually together with the signed employment contract
  3. Third-country national (non-EU)
    • the department informs the HR Division in due time of the planned entry
    • the employee will need a visa to work
      • on the instructions of the department, the HR Division will draw up a hosting agreement and a commitment to pay the fees, on the basis of which the employee will apply for a visa in his/her home country

      • the employment cannot start before the visa is granted
    • the employee completes, prints, signs, scans and emails the onboarding documents to the HR DIvision 
    • the employee will have an initial occupational health examination before starting - the department will complete the  application form before the examination
    • the head of department fills proposal sheet
    • the head of department creates a  job description for the employeee 
    • the onboarding documents and proposal sheet are sent by the site to the HR Division one month before the planned start date
    • the job description is sent by the department to the HR Division after the employee has signed it, usually together with the signed employment contract
