Working Groups at the Department of Philosophy and History of Natural Sciences
The Department for the Philosophy and History of Science specializes on the one hand in more theoretically oriented biological research and on the other in the philosophical and historical study of biology and other natural sciences. The topics covered by members of the department range from the Scientific Revolution, the birth of modern science and the history of science in the Czech lands, through cultural evolution, mathematical modelling and the philosophy of organism up to the evolution of reproduction and the theory of the frozen evolution. On an international level, we collaborate with the University of Oxford, the University of Tartu, the Max Planck Institute, Kadir Has University, University of Valencia, University of Porto, and others.
