Establishing collaboration with public health protection authorities, helminologists organized practical seminars on cercarial dermatitis for health station workers.
In October 2024, a seminar was held for employees of the Regional Public Health Authority of the Central Bohemian Region, and in January 2025, our helminologists visited the Public Health Authority of the Capital City of Prague.
The seminars covered a range of topics: from a general introduction to the issue of avian schistosomes and cercarial dermatitis, through an overview of traditional and modern approaches to their detection, to the current occurrence of the disease and possibilities for its control.
Nearly 100 people participated in the seminars in total.
