The European Partnership Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) has announced preliminary information about its planned call for international projects “Better care closer to home: Enhancing primary and community care”. The call is planned to open on 26. 11. 2024, planned deadline for pre-proposals is 30. 1. 2025.
Participation of Czech entities will be funded via the Czech Health Research Council (AZV).
On 17. 12. 2024, THCS organise a webinar for applicants. Information about the event will hopefully be published on THCS website or on the call webpage.
If you plan to participate in a proposal, please, contact well in advance, 1 month before the deadline at the latest, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), so that all the formal requirements of the application can be prepared in time.
If you consider coordinating a project, please contact us as soon as possible, ca. 2 months before the deadline at the very latest.

The call aims to fund research and innovation projects that will strengthen primary and community health and social care systems and provide policy and decision makers with the necessary knowledge and tools in relation to the primary and community care sector.
Proposals are expected to address one of the following sub-topics:
- Sub-topic 1: Strengthening the primary and community health and care system
- Sub-topic 2: Systemic approaches to modernizing the primary and community care sector
Project duration is 12–36 months. Project consortium must consist of 3–9 partners from at least 3 countries participating in the call (at least 1 EU member state, at least 2 other EU member states or Horizon Europe associated countries). No more than 2 partners from 1 country can participate in one proposal.
Each partner must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their national funding body.
Countries planning to participate in the call: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
Funding of participation of Czech entities will be linked to the Applied Health Research Support Program for 2024 – 2030, Sub-programme 3: European Partnerships in Health. Total AZV financial allocation for this call is EUR 500 000.
