The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (PerMed) has announced preliminary information about its planned call for international projects “Pharmacogenomic Strategies for Personalised Medicine” (PGxPM2025). The call is planned to open in mid-December 2024, planned deadline for pre-proposals is 18. 2. 2025.

Participation of Czech entities will be funded via the Czech Health Research Council (AZV).

If you plan to participate in a proposal, please, contact well in advance, 1 month before the deadline at the latest, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), so that all the formal requirements of the application can be prepared in time.

If you consider coordinating a project, please contact us as soon as possible, ca. 2 months before the deadline at the very latest.

Research projects can focus on any human disease and should address one or more of the following aspects:

  • identification of new pharmacogenomic markers or signatures using (multi)-omics data in relation to drug or drug combination.
  • validation of a pharmacogenomic marker or signatures using (multi)-omics data in predicting drug or drug combination outcomes.
  • use pharmaco-omics strategies to determine the right dosage, the efficacy of treatments and/or the risk of adverse drug response and non-response to treatment to tailor personalised treatment pathways, including combined treatments (multi-medication).

The call emphasises interdisciplinary collaborations, cross-sectorial collaborations (participation of enterprises, regulatory agencies and patient organisations), and active representation of patients or citizens. Only international projects will be funded (in the previous call, at least 3 partner from 3 countries participating in the call ad to participate in a proposal).
Each partner must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their national funding body.

Countries preliminarily planning to participate in the call: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye.

Funding of participation of Czech entities will be linked to the Applied Health Research Support Program for 2024 – 2030, Sub-programme 3: European Partnerships in Health. Total AZV financial allocation for this call is EUR 500 000.
