Faculty news about the calls of the European programme LIFE

► On 30. 4. 2025, MŽP organise in Czech a webinar for applicants. Registration (in Czech) open until 29. 4. 2025 (16:00), source (in Czech).

ATTENTION: A maximum of 3 applications per institution can be submitted to the national call – at Charles University, 2 applications are already being prepared.

If you plan to participate in a proposal submitted to a call of the programme LIFE, please, contact as soon as possible, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), in order to timely ensure the compliance with the rules of the Czech national call.

Within the Czech national call, it is possible to receive a financial contribution for the preparation of a LIFE project proposal submitted to the European call (only Czech coordinator can apply) and partial co-financing of the Czech part of the project if the proposal is successful in the European call (coordinator and potential Czech partner(s) apply in the national call separately). Maximal national co-financing is up to 25 % (and at the same time up to CZK 25 million for a coordinator, and up to CZK 2 million for a partner). Maximal funding rate in total (combining funding from the European and the Czech national call) cannot exceed 100 %.

The Czech national call supports the following types of LIFE projects:

The European programme LIFE supports projects that have a positive impact on the environment or climate. The projects should not focus on the research itself, but rather exploit research results. The projects should have an “added European value” (e.g., be demonstrations activities or technical solutions replicable elsewhere in Europe). Participation of entities from multiple countries in a project is not required. The funding rate of the Standard Action Projects is usually up to 60 % (up to 75 % in specific cases in the Nature and Biodiversity sub-programme).
