Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND): planned international call

The EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) has announced preliminary information about its planned call for international projects “Health and social care research with a focus on the moderate and late stages of neurodegenerative diseases”. The call is planned to open in early January 2025, deadline for pre-proposals is planned in early March 2025.

Participation of Czech entities should be funded by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports (MEYS) – participation of Czechia in this call has not yet been confirmed.

If you plan to participate in a proposal, please, contact well in advance, 1 month before the deadline at the latest, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), so that all the formal requirements of the application can be prepared in time.

If you consider coordinating a project, please contact us as soon as possible, ca. 2 months before the deadline at the very latest.

The call aims to improve the understanding of factors that impact the quality of life of patients and their families and to develop more adequate concepts of easily accessible support for people with neurodegenerative diseases at moderate, advanced and end of life stages. Projects should be innovative, multi-disciplinary, hypothesis driven and should have a strong focus on methodology. Partners from at least 3 countries participating in the call will have to participate in a proposal.
Each partner must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their national funding body.

Countries preliminarily planning to participate in the call: Canada, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Türkiye.

The pre-proposals will be probably submitted electronically by the project’s coordinator on behalf of the entire consortium. Simultaneously, each Czech participant will probably have to submit to MEYS compulsory national application annexes, some of these will probably have to be signed by the statutory representative.

Signature national application annexes by the statutory representative and their submission via data box would be facilitated by the Project Management Department, therefore it is essential for applicants to contact us well in advance (at martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz).
