The EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) has announced its call for international projects “Health and social care research with a focus on the moderate and late stages of neurodegenerative diseases”. Deadline for pre-proposals is 4. 3. 2025.
Participation of Czech entities will be funded by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports (MEYS).
If you plan to participate in a proposal, please, contact well in advance, 1 month before the deadline at the latest, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), so that all the formal requirements of the application can be prepared in time.
If you consider coordinating a project, please contact us as soon as possible, ca. 2 months before the deadline at the very latest.

The call aims to improve the understanding of factors that impact the quality of life of patients and their families and to develop more adequate concepts of easily accessible support for people with neurodegenerative diseases at moderate, advanced and end of life stages. Projects should be innovative, multi-disciplinary, hypothesis driven and should have a strong focus on methodology.
The project consortium must consist of 3–6 partners from at least 3 countries participating in the call. No more than 2 partners from 1 country can participate.
Each partner must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their national funding body.
Countries participating in the call: Belgium, Canada, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye.
In Czechia, only research institution can participate. Total allocation for participation of Czech entities in this call is EUR 1 000 000, it is expected that 3–4 projects with Czech participation will be supported.
The pre-proposals will be submitted electronically by the project’s coordinator via the electronic submission system. Each Czech participant has to simultaneously submit to MEYS a statutory declaration and eligible costs specification, both signed by the statutory representative of the organisation.
Signature of the statutory declaration and eligible costs specification, and their submission to MEYS via data box will be facilitated by the Project Management Department, therefore it is essential for applicants to contact us well in advance (at martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz).
