The programme supports cross-border projects in the Saxon-Czech border region. Projects must have a positive impact on the “programme area” and focus on a priority and objective of the programme (e.g., climate change mitigation, protection of biodiversity, education or sustainable tourism). At least 1 Czech and 1 Saxon partner must participate in a project. Before application submission, a compulsory consultation of all project partners with the Joint Secretariat and the relevant region must take place. Expected project duration is 3 years. Funding rate is up to 80 % (Czech universities can get additional 10 % from a national call). Indicative deadlines for proposal evaluation in 2024 and 2025 are: 20. 5. 2024, 11. 10. 2024, 11. 1. 2025, 20. 5. 2025.
Potential applicants should note that the preparation and implementation of Interreg projects can be administratively very demanding.
If you plan to participate in a project proposal, please, contact well in advance, 1 month before the deadline at the latest, the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz), so that all the administrative requirements of the application can be prepared in time.
If you consider coordinating a project, please contact us IMMEDIATELY, 2 months before the deadline at the very latest.

Interreg programmes generally do not fund research, but researchers can be involved in projects as knowledge providers and thus ensure that the results of their research contribute to the implementation of practical solutions in the region.
