The programme Horizon Europe has officially announced topics for international research and innovation projects to be funded in 2025. Deadlines are generally in autumn 2025.
Below are links to (preliminary) faculty information for the individual parts of the programme. This information will be updated over time and also posted on the funding opportunities webpage.
If you plan to participate in a proposal submitted to a Horizon Europe call, please, contact well in advance the Project Management Department (Martina Holíková, martina.holikova@natur.cuni.cz).
See also Horizon Europe – practical information on faculty website.
- Topics on the Funding & Tenders Portal – can be filtered by parts of the programme and other criteria. For each topic, it gives information about type of project, deadline, scope of the topic (Topic description), links to relevant documents, frequently asked questions and link for proposal submission.
- Planned information days by the European Commission.
- Portal of Czech National Contact Points for Horizon Europe – basic information, updates, events, etc.
These projects are carried out by international consortia with significant participation of users of results of the projects, the usual consortia size is ca. 8–25 entities (depending on scope of the topic) from EU countries or countries associated to Horizon Europe. Each project proposal must focus on one of the specific topics prescribed by the programme for the given year. About this type of projects on faculty website
Programme parts potentially relevant for the Faculty of Science (where the topics have been published now):
- Research Infrastructures
This part supports development of research infrastructures, namely the services they make available for the research community and other users – not the research carried out by the infrastructures themselves. - Cluster 1: Health (CL1)
CL1 contains topics potentially relevant for researchers in various fields – e.g., biologists, chemists or geographers – whose results can be applied in health or healthcare.
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive society (CL2)
CL2 contains topics potentially relevant for researchers in the fields of social sciences and humanities – or with an overlap into these fields.
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - Cluster 3: Civil security for society (CL3)
CL3 contains topics potentially relevant for researchers in geography and also other fields – if the results of their research be applied in security – e.g., (natural) disaster resilience, external border security, forensics, crime related societal issues.
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space (CL4)
CL4 contains topics potentially relevant for researchers in who’s research results can be used in the fields of e.g., advanced materials, production of safe chemicals and critical raw materials, utilisation of Artificial Intelligence in science, utilisation of data from Earth Observation (Copernicus) and others.
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility (CL5)
CL5 contains topics potentially relevant for researchers in who’s research results can be used in the fields of e.g., climate change Earth system modelling, energy (batteries development, biofuels, geothermal energy, underground energy storage, impact on biodiversity, energy communities), CO2 capture, transport (including some societal aspects).
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment (CL6)
Topics in CL6 may be relevant for researchers in biology, but also in geography, social geography and demography, if their research can be useful in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture, sustainable production and consumption of products of these sectors, related biodiversity, or climate change resilience.
Preliminary faculty news about topics planned in this cluster - EU Missions
Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities; Restore our Ocean and Waters; A Soil Deal for Europe; Cancer; Adaptation to Climate Change.
The topics that seem relevant for the Faculty of Science are part of the Mission A Soil Deal for Europe.
