I lead a lab of students and postdocs focusing on biodiversity conservation.

Scientific and research specialization: I aim to understand biological principles applicable in conservation practice using birds as model organisms. I specifically focus on species richness, patterns in species ecological traits and population dynamics.

  • Dean’s Award for the best performing young researcher at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague (2013)
  • Marcin Antczak Award for the most inspiring paper in ornithology (2016)
  • Giant Salamander Award according to students' voting for my course Special Nature Conservation at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague (2019)
  • Czech Society for Ornithology Award for publications on bird population dynamics (2020)
