Public Relations Division

Photographic documentation of faculty events and events, popularization of the faculty and natural sciences through professional and reportage photographs.

My research

I work on two independent topics at the Department of Ecology - metacommunities of the freshwater invertebrates and taxonomy & morphology of the cladocerans. I am interested especialy in are of PLA Kokořínsko in the Czech Republic, where we study newly created freshwater pools performing as the great study area for our ecological research, where we discovered and described a new species Daphnia hrbaceki in 2010.

Teaching

Subjects I regularly teach at the Faculty of Science are held mostly in the Czech language. However, you can join us at least within Photography for Science (MBCPLUS004).

Science Communication

I perform within the Czech TV Nova regularly since 2015 in my series "Petrova divočina". However, since 2007 I gave more than 500 talks, from whose about 140 were focused on the science communication, biology or microphotography. Within the Czech Republic, the most important projects are Science Café, TEDx Prague, Café Nobel, Academia Film Olomouc, či přednášky pro základní a střední školy (např. evropské projekty Triangl či Trojlístek).

Photography

Photography is an essential part not only of my research, but also of my life at all. This is why I am also partly employed as the Faculty photographer. You can check it at my web, or Instagram.
