Mgr. Eva Hejduková, Ph.D.
My main research interests are the ecology, physiology, and life cycle of polar microalgae, in particular their freezing adaptations and ability to thrive in extreme polar environments. I contribute to field studies investigating freshwater diatoms, sea ice diatoms, snow algae, and biological soil crusts in polar and alpine ecosystems, aiming to uncover their unique adaptive strategies and ecological interactions. I also focus on eco-physiological experiments, mainly on diatoms, to understand their responses to environmental stressors and their contribution to ecosystem functioning.
