The Faculty of Science is glad to welcome you all to this new academic year! We compiled some information to help you get a smooth start to your thrilling stay and studies in Prague.

 

First, we recommend you subscribe to the CU Point Newsletter for International Students and the Faculty of Science Newsletter to receive up-to-date information about the services and events Charles University and the Faculty of Science organised for you. Also, check out the calendar of CU Point and try not to miss any exciting events organised for you!

Another place we suggest following is the Kampus Hybernská, where you can enjoy various cultural events throughout the day.

Below are the highlighted events targeting both Czech and international students in the following few weeks to kick off the new academic year:

  • Unique START 2024/25 offers a rich cultural program, introductions to student activities and associations, and plenty of activities to help you get to know people around you. A party will follow the informative part, so make sure you do not miss it!
  • Life in the Czech Republic: what to know to get around. In this course, we will discuss the various aspects of visas and residence permits, accommodations, health care, health insurance, and employment. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions regarding your stay in Czechia.
  • Starting on October 9, International Wednesdays, the recurring event welcomes Czech and international students to its informative, fun, and friendly events with its diverse content. In an informal environment, students can socialise and enjoy their study-free time.
  • If you want to learn more about Czech language and culture, help your international peers learn Czech language, or even become a Buddy, join Check it in Czech feat. Czechs event (October, 10) at Kampus Hybernská.
  • A Welcome Day for New International Degree Students is a special event targeting newcomers for this academic year on October 23!
  • There are special events for PhD Students to help them with their studies and academic careers.
