At the end of June 2025, a group of philosophers and historians from the Department of Philosophy and History of Science at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, visited the Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine and Technology for the third time. Six academics and two students took part in a workshop entitled Creative Cities: Knowledge of Nature and Networks of Cities, where they presented the results of their research in the fields of the history of philosophy, natural sciences, and medicine together with their Oxford colleagues.
During the visit, the participants toured the Bodleian Library and the History of Science Museum, which are among the most renowned institutions of their kind in the world. They were guided through these by Oxford experts in the history of science and medicine.
The meeting strengthened and deepened the long-term collaboration between members of the Department of Philosophy and History of Science and colleagues from the Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine and Technology, significantly expanding the platform for joint meetings, project development, and the internationalization of both students and academic staff of the two institutions. This collaboration is set to continue in the coming years.
