The JUNIOR Fund: Supporting International Postdoctoral Researchers

The JUNIOR Fund is a university-wide initiative aimed at attracting talented postdoctoral fellows from abroad to conduct independent research within specific departments or research centres. Each position is created in collaboration with the hosting unit, which defines the focus of the research project.

The selection process consists of two stages. First, candidates are assessed by the relevant department or research centre. Final selection is then made by the Charles University Research Board.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application:

  • The applicant must be a resident of a foreign country.

  • The applicant must have completed a Ph.D. abroad, no more than five years prior to the application date (this period may be extended to account for maternity or paternity leave).

  • The applicant must not hold habilitation or an associate professorship qualification.

  • Czech and Slovak nationals are also eligible, provided they earned their Ph.D. at a foreign university.

The Faculty of Science invites motivated researchers to apply and become part of a vibrant international academic community in the heart of Europe.
