At the meeting of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, held on May 22, 2025, the faculty’s former dean, Prof. RNDr. Jiří Zima, CSc., was unanimously nominated as a candidate for the position of Rector of Charles University.
At the meeting of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, held on May 22, 2025, the faculty’s former dean, Prof. RNDr. Jiří Zima, CSc., was unanimously nominated as a candidate for the position of Rector of Charles University.
"After careful consideration, I have decided to take on one more life challenge and will run for Rector of Charles University. With humility, I presented my vision today to the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science, which expressed its full support," said Prof. Zima.
Professor Zima has been part of the Faculty for many years, serving as a researcher, teacher, Vice-Dean, and later Dean. He believes that his experience in leading such a large and diverse faculty provides a strong foundation for his candidacy for Rector of the entire University.
"We all want a University we can be proud of," he added.
