The 20th annual International Student Conference “Modern Analytical Chemistry” has been successfully held at our faculty

Friday 20.9.2024

On 19 and 20 September 2024, the Department of Analytical Chemistry of our faculty organized the 20th meeting of PhD students in analytical chemistry, again under the auspices of the Division of Analytical Chemistry, European Chemical Society, and the Group of Analytical Chemistry of the Czech Chemical Society. The conference is already a traditional forum for young researchers in the field of analytical chemistry to present and discuss their research in an international forum in English, which undoubtedly contributes to improving their communication and presentation skills as well as their language skills and enables the establishment of scientific collaboration between the participating departments.

The opening ceremony took place on Thursday 19 September at 9:00 a.m. in the presence of the Vice-Rector of Charles University, Prof. Dr. Markéta Martínková and the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof.  Dr. Jiří Zima. Forty-five lecturers actively participated in the conference, eight in online mode via videoconference, due to the problems caused by the weather in Central Europe. Participants came from seven universities from three countries: the Łukasiewicz Center (Warsaw, Poland), Politechnika Warszawska (Poland), Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic), Universität Regensburg (Germany), Uniwersytet Jagielloński (Krakow, Poland), Uniwersytet Łódzki (Poland), and the University of Chemical Technology (Prague, Czech Republic).

The topics of the presentations included research and development of new analytical techniques or optimization of analysis conditions, as well as the application of analytical chemistry in environmental, medical, food or, forensic fields. The complete conference program and the proceedings with full texts or abstracts of the presentations are available on the conference website: www.natur.cuni.cz/isc-mac/
