The Institute of Geology and Palaeontology organises a number of seminars, workshops, short courses, and international conferences. The main goal of our seminars is to promote the exchange of ideas and to discuss the latest and most exciting developments in Earth Sciences. The Institute´s "flagship" in this respect are the interlinked Sedimentary Geology and Paleontological Seminars, to which we invite speakers from foreign universities and research institutions. Seminars are held regularly on Wednesdays from 2:50 pm in the Palaeontology Lecture Hall, Albertov 6, Prague 2.

Note about streaming and video recordings of seminars

Dear colleagues,
from our side (e.g. IGP), there was an effort to ensure the streaming and recording of the lectures taking place within the Sedimentary and Paleontological Seminars. It was not always possible to get an agreement from lecturer, and for this reason some seminars were not recorded or streamed. We are not able to predict the agreement predominantly from foreign lectures some weeks ago, as we are fine tuning personal invitations sometimes few weeks prior the seminars. We will try to include this option – e.g. streaming yes/no to our invitations. Please note, some of invited persons are renowned specialists and to see them face to face is actually a great „adventure“ ;-))). In addition, the attendance is mandatory in the study regulations, and streaming is only an alternative for the professional public who cannot attend in person (or for some cases if you cannot visit the seminar for serious reasons like it is ilness, etc.). We therefore encourage you to attend future seminars in abundance. If you have any further questions, please contact the guarantors of the individual seminars.
