The Geography Section of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, the Map Collection and the Geography Library cordially invite you to the exhibition Institute of Geography, Faculty of Science, Charles University 1920–1940: they were the first.
The exhibition presents the first twenty years of the Faculty of Science, CU, when geography established itself as a new, dynamically developing field. It presents 20 personalities who fundamentally influenced the face of contemporary geography and from whom three deans of our faculty emerged:
- Václav Švambera (academic year 1923/24)
- Jiří Viktor Daneš (academic year 1925/26)
- Bedřich Šalamon (academic year 1939/40)
