The project will host EO-related challenges and hackathons to encourage applied learning and innovation, foster multidisciplinary collaboration, and provide visibility to young talents in the EO domain. Examples include EO hackathons (24–72 hour events focusing on solving real-world problems using EO data), student challenges (semester-long tasks for university students with ESA mentorship), and data storytelling competitions based on Copernicus and Sentinel datasets. The motivations to participate may include ESA-branded certificates, potential travel support for winners to present at ESA events, and promotion of winning projects on ESA EO platforms.
We aim to organize 1 challenges per year.
