The legal norm governing academic life, teaching and scientific activities at universities is the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to some other Acts.
The internal regulations of Charles University are binding for all faculties and units of Charles University.
The internal regulations of the Faculty of Science are binding for students and employees of the Faculty of Science.
Other regulations that specify the above-mentioned university and faculty regulations and regulate individual procedures and agendas are the Rector's Directives and the Dean's Measures.
