Co-funded European Partnerships bring together national funding bodies (e.g. grant agencies or ministries) that decide to jointly support international research and innovation projects in a certain area. Such a partnership subsequently launches calls for international project proposals. Proposals are submitted by international consortia and usually, only researchers from countries involved in the particular Co-funded Partnership can participate in these proposals and each partner must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their national funding body. Proposals are evaluated on the international level and when a project is selected for funding, then each partner in the consortia is funded by their national funding body.
