TA CR Sigma, Sub-objective 5: long-term plans and current needs: planned call

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) plans the 13^th call of the Programme for applied research and innovation Sigma – Sub-objective 5: Cross-sectional support in the measures Long-term research plans and Current R&D needs. The call is planned to open on 9. 7. 2025, planned deadline is 10. 9. 2025.

ATTENTION! One research organisation (e.g. Charles University) can in one topic submit only one proposal as the main applicant.

If you plan to apply as the main applicant, please, send by 15. 6. 2025 at the latest the project title and the extended project abstract (up to 2 pages A4) to the Project Management Department (Romana Hogenová, romana.hogenova@natur.cuni.cz).

The Sub-objective 5 should strengthen support for new opportunities in applied research and innovation projects. The measure “Long-term research plans” supports long-term projects setting up and developing systemic solutions to current and future research and development issues in various fields; the projects aren’t required to lead to immediate application or rapid implementation of results on the market. The measure “Current R&D needs” supports projects currently responding to the emerging needs of Czech society and the economy.

Topics of the 13^th call:

• AI4CZ – Artificial intelligence in research, development and innovation
• Circular economy and raw material security
• Affordable, resilient and interconnected transport for the security of the czech republic in a multipolar environment
• Semiconductors

In this call, the main applicant must be a research organisation – and one research organisation can in one topic submit only one proposal as the main applicant. Additionally, at least 1 enterprise must participate. Project duration is 72–84 months (i.e. 6-7 years). Maximal funding per project differs for different topic (up to CZK 400 million in case of AI4CZ and Semiconductors; up to CZK 200 million in case of the other two topics), maximal funding rate is 80 % (for the whole project).
