- About the Interreg programmes in general.
The programme supports regional and local projects with a positive impact on the “programme area” on the both sides of the border. This call focuses on landscape water retention.
Interreg programmes generally do not fund research, but researchers can be involved in projects as knowledge providers and thus ensure that the results of their research contribute to the implementation of practical solutions in the region.
At least 1 Czech and 1 Polish partner must participate in a project. It is recommended to consult the project ideas with the regional contact points (regionální subjekty / podmioty regionalne) – see contacts (in Czech). Funding rate is up to 80 % (Czech universities can get additional 10 % from a national call).
Activities supported in this call (roughly translated using DeepL):
- Conceptual activities aimed at planning and preparing measures for landscape water retention
- exchange of experience and good practice in the field of landscape water retention and flood prevention
- development of concrete joint proposals for landscape water retention solutions for flood protection, including preparation of related project documentation
- Field measures aimed at implementing water retention measures in the landscape
- fostering bioretention (protection and restoration of forests to mitigate the effects of intense rainfall, meadows, wetlands, etc.)
- investment in nature-based rainwater harvesting systems (pools, grassed swales and ditches, etc.)
- revitalisation of watercourses to restore the natural function of aquatic ecosystems and increase their retention capacity
