COST: newly approved international networks – opportunity to participate

The international programme COST (European Cooperation in Scientific and Technical Research) has published 70 newly approved COST Actions – international networks of researchers and innovators focused on a particular research topic. These networks are open in principle – new participants can join already approved COST Actions.

Researchers from Czech institutions can also participate in proposals of new COST Actions.

COST supports international collaboration in science and technology. It encourages multidisciplinarity and participation of young researchers and innovators. COST Actions are international networks that connect researchers from both the academic and private sector and focus on a particular research topic. COST Actions funds only “networking” activities (e.g.: meetings, workshops and conferences, short-term scientific missions, training schools, virtual mobility etc.), but not research itself. It is possible to join an approved Action from publication of the Action’s Memorandum of Understanding in the database of COST Actions until the end of the Action (duration of an Action is usually 4 years).

Ways how to participate in an ongoing COST Action

Note on Czech sub-programme Inter-COST:
Researchers from Czech institutions who are successfully involved in a COST Action and have gone through the Czech national procedure for joining a COST Action are eligible to apply for research funding from the Czech programme Inter-Excelence II, sub-programme Inter-COST. In recent years, the Inter-COST call was usually announced in early December with a deadline in January or in early February, and applicants had to have already completed the Czech national procedure on the day of the call announcement.
