Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency (BTHA): academic projects

The Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency (Bayerisch-Tschechische Hochschulagentur, BTHA) offers grants to support Czech-Bavarian cooperation in research and education:

Bavarian-Czech academic projects in 2024

• The programme supports academic projects of Bavarian universities in cooperation with Czech partners. Supported are, e.g.: Bavarian-Czech conferences, scientific workshops, seminars, excursions, project consultations and similar activities. Projects with a focus on young scientists (students in master's and doctoral programmes) are particularly welcome.
• An application must be submitted by a Bavarian university. Financial contribution per project is up to EUR 5000; own financial contribution to the project is welcome but not a prerequisite. The project must be completed and accounting done by the beginning of December 2024.
• Applications can be submitted continuously (until the funds are exhausted).

Bilateral summer/winter schools in 2024

• The programme supports bilateral thematic summer or winter schools for students from Bavarian and Czech universities. One-week or multi-week joint courses held at a Bavarian or Czech university are supported and should be open to students from several disciplines or universities. Courses can be in person, online or hybrid.
• An application must be submitted by a Bavarian university. Financial contribution per project can be EUR 1 000 – 10 000; own financial contribution to the project is welcome but not a prerequisite. The supported courses must be completed and accounting done by the beginning of December 2024.
• Applications can be submitted continuously (until the funds are exhausted).
