Research interests
As a statistical hydrologist, I naturally deal with the statistical processing of hydrological material, predominantly arranged in the form of time series. In addition, I focus on climatological data. Being originally a geographer, space also plays a very important role in my scientific life. I thus synthesize the potential of data science techniques and geographical information systems. Both approaches are well combined in the R programming language, which I use for my work in a routine manner. My research focuses on diverse aspects of modelling the hydrological cycle and its components. I am particularly interested in the quantitative aspect and spatial redistribution of water resources under the conditions of a changing climate, virtually all over the world. As a statistician, I sometimes visit fields of other disciplines, not necessarily being natural sciences.
