Research Interests
Taxonomy, phylogeography, and biology of beetles (Coleoptera), especially Scarabaeoidea (scarab beetles), including the taxonomy of immature stages.

Current Projects
Diversity (hot spots) of scarab beetles in the transitional zones between the Palearctic and Oriental or Afrotropical zoogeographical regions; phylogeography of dor beetles (Geotrupidae) in the Balkan Peninsula and the Eastern Mediterranean; ongoing work on cataloguing Palearctic Scarabaeoidea.

Field Experience
Mediterranean, Maghreb, Horn of Africa, Arabian Peninsula, and China.

Lectures and Courses
I mainly teach subjects focused on entomology: General Entomology, Systematics and Phylogeny of Insects I and II. I also participate in various field courses and excursions, including the Field Cours in Zoology I and the Interdisciplinary excursion to European ecosystems.
