Area of Expertise: Insect ecology, pollination, Diptera.

Research Focus: Our research group focuses on studying pollinators, examining the interactions between pollinating insects and plants, as well as the ecology and evolution of the insects themselves. We place special emphasis on dipteran insects, particularly hoverflies (Diptera: Syrphidae), which are key yet often overlooked pollinators. Our research is conducted not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad, including in tropical regions.

Teaching: I participate in Czech lectures on Statistics in Biology and Design of Ecological Experiments and Plant Interactions, as well as in English lectures on Introduction to Insects and Insect Biodiversity. Additionally, I lead field excursions for the courses Terrestrial Ecosystems, Field Course in Zoology, Special Zoology Excursions, and Practical of Pollinator and Plant Pathogen Determination.
