The Faculty of Science is Preparing National Repositories for Biodiversity Data

The Faculty of Science, Charles University is involved in preparing national repositories for storing and sharing biodiversity data as part of the Open Science I and II projects. These upcoming infrastructures will support open science and integration with international databases. The activities also include an information meeting and an upcoming call for mini-grants to create FAIR datasets. The information meeting will take place on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 in lecture hall B12 at Benátská 2. If international colleagues attend, the meeting will be conducted in English.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Faculty of Science at Charles University hosted a certificate award ceremony for recipients of the SAS® Specialization Certificate in Advanced Demographic Analysis. This certificate with the stated specialization is issued by our faculty through the Department of Demography and Geodemography as the only institution in the world authorized to offer it, and we are justifiably proud of this achievement.

Success in the ERC CZ competition: Grants awarded to two Faculty of Science researchers

The Faculty of Science at Charles University reaffirms the high standard of its research. Two of our researchers have succeeded in the 10th public competition of the ERC CZ programme, the results of which were published by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS): RNDr. Filip Kolář, Ph.D., from the Department of Botany, and RNDr. Daniel Rozbeský, Ph.D., from the Department of Cell Biology and the BIOCEV centre. Both laureates contributed significantly to the overall achievement of Charles University, which secured a total of six supported projects in this call.
