On Organization of the Operation of the Website of the Charles University, Faculty of Science

Art. 1
Subject Matter

This measure sets out the principles and rules for the creation, management and publication of the main website of the Faculty of Science of the Charles University. The aim is to ensure a uniform and professional appearance and up-to-date content of the faculty website.

Art. 2
Main Website

  1. The main website of the Charles University, Faculty of Science (hereinafter the “Faculty”) is the official website of the Faculty at the URL www.natur.cuni.cz.
  2. The operation of the faculty's main website servers is provided by the Information Technology Division (hereinafter the “ITD”).

Art. 3
Editorial System

  1. To publish content on the main website, an editorial system is used – a specialized software that allows easy updating and management of website content.
  2. The operation and administration of the editorial system is provided by ITD.

Art. 4
Content Publication and Responsibility for Content on the Website's Front Page

  1. The content on the front page of the Faculty's main website is produced and published by the Public Relations Division (hereinafter the “PR”), in accordance with graphic and content standards.
  2. PR is responsible for the content on the front page.

Art. 5
Webmaster and its Role

  1. The webmaster is the person responsible for the administration and maintenance of the main Faculty website. The webmaster is an employee of the OIT.
  1. The rights and obligations of the webmaster include:
    1. Management of the main Faculty website in accordance with Faculty guidelines and standards;
    2. Ensuring the technical functionality of the website and editorial system;
    3. Responding to technical issues and requests related to websites.
  2. Contacting the webmaster is possible via contact details provided on the Faculty website or via the ITD helpdesk.

Art. 6
Department Portal

  1. The head of the department is obliged to designate the administrator of the department's web portal (hereinafter the “portal”) and is further obliged to ensure that the data on the portal administrator is updated in the Charles University personnel database – WhoIs.
  2. The portal can be divided into sub-nodes. The administration of sub-nodes within the portal is set by the portal administrator in cooperation with the webmaster in the editorial system.
  3. Portal and node administrators are responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, reliability and legality of their content.

Art. 7
WhoIs

  1. Contacts and data about people working at the faculty are drawn to the main website from the public WhoIs database.
  2. The administrator of the workplace's personnel application is obliged to keep the data in the WhoIs database up to date. This administrator is determined by the head of the department.

Art. 8
Website Access

  1. The main Faculty website has a public and a private section.
  2. The public part of the main Faculty website is accessible without restrictions.
  3. Only authorized users who log in via the Charles University Central Authentication Service (CAS) have access to the non-public part of the main Faculty website.

Art. 9
Other Websites of the Faculty

ITD and PR issue instructions and methodologies for the establishment, administration and operation of other websites of the Faculty. Instructions and methodologies are published on the ITD and PR portal.

Art. 10
Final provisions

  1. The operation and development of the main Faculty website is managed by an authorized member of the Dean's Advisory Board in cooperation with the heads of the ITD and PR.
  2. This Measure comes into force and takes effect on the date of its publication.
