Allows for the recruitment of a junior academic staff member for a maximum of 2 years within 5 years of completing their PhD studies.
Funding is provided by a combination of support from the RUK and the receiving department/supervisor. When submitting a topic to the selection procedure, the topic holder is obliged to have secured funding of € 1.000/month for the entire duration of the planned stay.
The call is announced annually on the following schedule:
- announcement of the collection of topics for scientific projects (projects are subsequently published)
- collection of applications from individual candidates by the theme promoters (each future supervisor will choose one candidate)
- selection procedure at the RUK
Specific dates and faculty deadlines are always announced separately. The start date for new junior researchers is always 1 January of the calendar year.
