This page contains advice for students of the Faculty of Science of Charles University who are scheduled to undertake an internship as a part of a student mobility scheme that does not fall under the Erasmus+ programme and covers only information regarding internship evidence in SIS and details that the students have to work out with the Student Affairs Division. All additional matters (general requirements, travel, insurance, funding…) are handled by the student in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs.

What follows below is a summary of the main points. Technical guidelines for handling internship evidence can be found here.

Guidelines for internship evidence submission for students of bachelor’s and master’s programmes

  • Students of bachelor’s and master’s programmes are required to submit evidence of internships that last longer than 30 days.
  • Prior to the start of the internship, the student creates a new record of internship in the ‘Internships’ module in SIS, fills in the required information and uploads the necessary attachments (a study plan, the form linked below, or eventually any additional documents).
  • In order to have their study plan approved by the guarantor of the study programme, the student fills out this form.
  • When selecting an internship and putting together a study plan, the student needs to keep in mind that they must fulfil the requirements needed for progression into the subsequent period of study. When in doubt, the student should contact the study officer for guidance.
  • Any changes to the duration of the internship must be immediately reported to the Student Affairs Division.
  • After completing the internship, the student adjusts the beginning and end dates in SIS so that they correspond with the actual duration of the internship and uploads the Transcript, or eventually a report from the internship, and a Confirmation of Stay.
  • It is possible to apply for recognition of courses taken abroad as equivalents of compulsory subjects or compulsory elective subjects at the Faculty of Science. The form for requesting the recognition of subjects can be found here.

Guidelines for internship evidence submission for students of doctoral programmes

  • Students of doctoral programmes are required to submit evidence of internships that last longer than 7 days.
  • Prior to the start of the internship, the student creates a new record of internship in the ‘Internships’ module in SIS, fills in the required information and uploads the necessary attachments (a study plan, or eventually any additional documents).
  • The internship is to be approved in SIS by the supervisor.
  • Any changes to the duration of the internship must be immediately reported to the Student Affairs Division.
  • Upon returning from the internship, the student edits the beginning and end dates in SIS so that they correspond with the actual duration of the internship and uploads a Confirmation of Stay.
