Area of expertise: bioacoustics, mammal ecology, mammalogy
Research: I mainly deal with the behavior, ecology and conservation of the European ground squirrel. I also focus on the bioacoustics of small mammals, studying the vocal repertoires of selected species, as well as interspecific differences and other types of variability in the vocalizations of selected small mammals (e.g. prosimians, hyraxes, rodents or insectivores). I also address the issue of using bioacoustics to improve management and husbandry practices for wild animals in human care.
Teaching: I have been providing and teaching practical exercises in vertebrate zoology and field excursions in zoology. Since 2024, I have been providing a newly established course "Zoologists in practice".
