Nominated by the Czech Immunological Society, Dr. Dobeš received the award for his postdoctoral research on extrathymic AIRE-expressing cells (eTACs), which play a critical role in regulating immune responses to Candida albicans. His work demonstrated that these cells—sharing features of both antigen-presenting cells and type 3 innate lymphoid cells—are essential for mediating adaptive Th17 responses and mucosal immunity.
The prize will be officially presented during a special awards ceremony at the 19th International Congress of Immunology (IUIS 2025) in Vienna on August 20, 2025.
Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
